  1. Need a refresher?

Have you tried our new spelling games  Monkey Business and Cool Spelling?

We are always developing Spellzone and all our subscribers have access to site updates as soon as they are available.

To help you get the most out of your Spellzone experience, why not book a refresher training session?

    We offer:

    -   A 20-minute tour of the main Spellzone features
    -   A 50-minute tour of all the Spellzone features, including how to track your students’ progress

Each session can be tailored specifically for your school’s needs. Book a session for your team today.

In the meantime, these links will help you refresh your memory on the basics:

    -   8 Spellzone Features You Didn’t Know You Needed
    -   3 Spelling Tasks to Set Your Students on Spellzone

  2. New year, new start!

If you didn’t do this at the end of last term, the start of the year is the perfect time to reset the Spelling Ability Test. Your students will be provided with updated pathways for the new year and you will have a useful data point for each student to help you map progress.

At the end of the year, you can compare your students' Spellzone Scores to their start-of-year ones to see how much they have improved.

  3. Decide how you are going to reward your students

Did you know students are awarded effort and achievement points for working on different spelling activities?

Points count towards student title rankings and league tables, as well as medals on each student’s profile and printable certificates.

Why not set up a in-school competition? To identify the top speller in each class:

    -   Click on the blue ‘Classes’ tab.
    -   Choose your class, filtering by ‘My Classes’ if necessary
    -   Use the dropdown menu above the table to change the time period you want to look at (for example, ‘Last 30 days’ or ‘Last 7 days’)
    -   Click on the green ‘points’ heading to see which student scored the most points over that time period.

If you are using Spellzone as part of an academy trust or school district, contact us to set up an inter-school league table.

"Thank goodness for Spellzone during this remote learning phase. The site is easy for students to navigate independently and they're really enjoying the activities and spelling games. You get an awful lot for your money with Spellzone. Really reassuring is the very prompt response with helpdesk queries. I've very rarely needed the helpdesk, but when I have, the issue has been addressed and sorted within a very short time."
