About This Spelling List: Year 2 Spring Term Spellings Week 3

This week's spelling pattern / rule is: Adding ing , er , est and y to words with a short vowel sound. Rule: When a short vowel is followed by one consonant at the end of the root word, double the last consonant and add (ed) or (ing).
