Plurals- s/es and Homophones. When making a word plural to show it means more than one add -s most of the time, add -es when the word ends in a hissing sound. Also practice the 3 pairs of words which sound the same but are spelled differently (homophones).

speaks A soliloquy is when a character in a play speaks to himself and the audience, not to another character on the stage. *
waves We will surf the waves from that beach.
hopes David hopes to excel in his science exam.
would James would like an orange juice.
wood Most chairs and tables are made of wood.

wear Kids prefer to wear casual clothes.
here Wait here until I get back.
hear Shout across the valley to hear the echo.
