ballad A ballad is a song or poem that tells a story. *
verse Sing the first verse.
onomatopoeia Onomatopoeia is when the sound of a word is the same as its meaning. *
figurative Figurative art is often defined in contrast to abstract art. *
imagery Imagery is when words are used to create a picture in a reader's mind. *
hyperbole Hyperbole is an exaggeration used for effect. *
juxtaposition The juxtaposition between 'fair' and 'foul' shows how much the witches will change everything. *
idiom Idiom is a group of words that doesn't make sense if taken literally ; for example, it's raining cats and dogs. *
humour British English spelling She has a wicked sense of humour.
irony Irony is the use of words where the real meaning is the opposite of what is actually said. *
symbolism Symbolism is an art style which uses mythology and metaphor to convey ideas. *
