imagery Imagery is when words are used to create a picture in a reader's mind. *
simile Simile involves describing something by comparing it with something else. *
metaphor A metaphor describes something by saying it is something else. *
personification Personification describes something non-human as if it is human. *
listing Listing is used when things appear one after the other in a list with commas or with and. *
punctuation Punctuation marks are used in writing for clarity.

alliteration Alliteration involves words that begin with the same sound. *
onomatopoeia Onomatopoeia is when the sound of a word is the same as its meaning. *
sibilance Sibilance is the repetition of s sounds in consecutive words. *
