This week's spelling pattern / rule is: Words with 'wa' as /o/ and 'wo' as /er/ Rule: 'After w the short sound /o/ is usually spelled with the letter a. After qu, the short vowel sound /o/ is usually spelled with the letter a. After w the /or/ sound is usually spelled with the letters ar.
