This week s spelling pattern / rule is: Common exception words with ea as /ay/ and a as /ar/ or /a/ (dialect) Rule: The short e sound spelled "ea" shows up in many frequently used words. Often these are forms of a verb which still keeps the long e . For example: break, breaker, great, steak, bear, bugbear, forebear, pear, wear, swear, tear .

One of the students has put in a huge amount of effort in completing Spellzone at least 3 times a week since his arrival with us in January.
