The ending /shƏs/ is usually spelled cious or tious: |
cious as in 'a delicious dessert' | tious as in 'an infectious illness' |
Sometimes, the ending of the root word can help us:
1. Words ending in tion change to tious: ambition
> ambitious
2. Words ending in ce change to cious: grace
> gracious
