There are many ways of spelling the sound /or/. This first page looks at the most common ways: or ore au and aw |
There are no rules to tell you which sound to use, but there are some
helpful hints:
1. Never use au at the end of a word; use ore or aw,
e.g. shore, jaw.
2. aw is often used before n and l e.g. dawn,
crawl.
