Spelling list: Some practice in consonant patterns

A short vowel is usually followed by two consonants. A long vowel is usually followed by just one consonant.

translate:
fatter The fatter you get, the slower you can run.
later You can watch TV not now but later.
better Better late than never.
peter Peter would like to come too.
dinner It's fish for dinner tonight.
diner Jack stopped at the diner for a meal.
rocket The rocket shot up in the sky.
broken There was a broken link in the chain.
supper After supper we'll play some games.
super The super hero saved the day.
