On Spellzone, you can click on any student’s name to find out more about how they have been using the resource. Click on the blue ‘Students’ tab or choose a class from the blue ‘Classes’ tab to find a list of your students.

Here are 13 ways to monitor a student’s activity and results:

  1. Click on the green ‘Results’ tab. Hover over each segment of the pie chart to see how often your student has used each type of activity.

  2. Look at the table to see what activities your student completed each time they logged into Spellzone. Use the dropdown menu above the table to change the time period you want to look at.

Each row represents a Spellzone session, and each column gives further information about what your student did in that session, e.g. what time they logged in or how many Look, Say, Cover, Write Check activities they completed.

Watch out for a blank row: this indicates your student logged in but didn’t complete any work.

  3. Click on the magnifying glass at the end of a row for more details about that session.

Find out what times your student logged in and logged out; what device and browser they used; what pages, tests, and activities they worked on; what time they started each page, test, or activity; and what scores they achieved.

Click on any score to find your student’s answers for that test or activity.

  4. Click on the red ‘Spelling Ability Test’ tab to find your student’s answers to the Spelling Ability Test

  5. Look at your student’s current Spellzone Score and compare it with their previous scores.

  6. Click on the red ‘Spelling Course’ tab. Hover over each segment of the pie chart to find out how many red (below 60 %), amber (between 60% and 90%), and green (above 90%) scores your student has achieved.

  7. Hover over each segment of the second pie chart to find out how often your student has used the Learn the Words practice activities and how often they have skipped over them.

  8. Scroll down the page to explore your student’s test results. Click on any score to find your student’s answers for that test.

  9. Hover over the alien icons to see how confident your student feels about the work they have completed.

  10. Click on the ‘Course tests table’ link at the top of the page to see which units your student has completed and to identify any gaps in their knowledge.

  11. Click on the red ‘Word Lists’ tab. Hover over each segment of the pie chart to see how often your student has used each type of activity.

  12. Scroll down the page to explore your student’s Word List results. Use the dropdown menu above the table to change the time period you want to look at.

Find out which list your student used, which activity they used the list in, and the date and time they completed the work.

Click on any score to find your student’s answers for that activity.

  13. Click on the green ‘Rewards’ tab at the top of the page to see a breakdown of your student’s Achievement and Effort points.

"Spellzone fits in beautifully with our Scope and Sequence of Phonological Awareness and Spelling. It also aligns perfectly with the four areas of spelling knowledge and uses the Brain, Ears, Eyes approach to learning spelling."
Thank you!
