Spelling the long vowel sound /ē/: ee, ea , e-e, y

We have listed all the common spellings for e-e but there are too many for the others for us to include them.
So, if in doubt, check with a dictionary.

How is the long e sound spelt in these words?

Remember, if it uses the split digraph a-e there will be a letter in between!

Work out which letters are missing.

Type the whole word:

Do you like cr___m in your coffee?
Some of th___ words are hard to spell.
The coffee jar is empt___.
Come and sit betw___n us.
Go away and l___ve me alone!

One of the students has put in a huge amount of effort in completing Spellzone at least 3 times a week since his arrival with us in January. Looking at his scores after the latest GL testing, his standardised score has risen from 99 to 131. This is a truly phenomenal result. I just wanted to share the best result I have ever seen.
