This week's spelling pattern / rule is: adding endings to words ending in consonant and y . When you add a suffix to a word ending in a consonant + y, change the y to i , unless the suffix starts with i . To add s , change the y to i then add es Y to i rule with words ending in consonant + y. Change the y to i before vowel suffixes (except -ing)
