Can you spell all the words correctly? Words beginning with the prefix re-. Try this test!
In the English language, prefixes enable us to enrich our vocabulary and convey nuanced meanings. We do this by affixing the prefix to the start of a word.
The prefix re- signifies repetition, renewal, or return. It comes from Latin and means again or back. When added to a base word, it conveys the idea that something is being done again in a new way (for example, redesign or recycle) or that something or someone is going back (for example, revisit or return).
If you come across a new re- word, don’t forget you can look at the base word to help you work out what it means. Use the spelling activities to familiarise yourself with the re- words in this list.
