Spelling list: cei words

The spelling rule i before e except after c works MOST of the time but not always. This list shows many of the cei words that DO obey the rule.

ceiling	We've painted the ceiling white.
receipt	You will need your receipt if you want to exchange the item.
receive	Did you receive my last letter?
deceive	The liar tried to deceive me.
conceive	We are trying to conceive.
perceive	I perceive no other option.
deceit	The criminal was a master of deceit.
conceited	I couldn't believe how conceited he was.
