idiom Idiom is a group of words that doesn't make sense if taken literally ; for example, it's raining cats and dogs. *
onomatopoeia Onomatopoeia is when the sound of a word is the same as its meaning. *
tone Tone is the feel of the text, indicated by choice of words, rhythm of sentence and such like. *
