Teaching point How to spell the long /ū/ sound:

Sometimes, we just need the letter u, for example:

Sometimes, we add another letter, for example:

u-e as in cube. ue as in statue. ew as in 'mew'.
We use the split digraph u-e to make the u say its name. We add ue. We use ew.
