A Word for Wednesday: Diary

Today marks the birthday of a hugely important figure in history: Anne Frank. Her diary, ‘The Diary of a Young Girl’ offered us a terrifying insight into the experience of hiding with her family during the German occupation of the Netherlands in the Second World War. When Anne’s father returned to the concealed rooms in which they were hiding, the diary remained. One of the students has put in a huge amount of effort in completing Spellzone at least 3 times a week since his arrival with us in January. Looking at his scores after the latest GL testing, his standardised score has risen from 99 to 131. This is a truly phenomenal result. I just wanted to share the best result I have ever seen.
